Was du davon hast:What you get: Du gehst vorbereitet ins Gespräch mit Molkerei, Mühle oder Verarbeiter: Was sie brauchen, was du sagen darfst und wie du einen Aufpreis verhandelst. You go well prepared into talks with dairy, mill or processor: what they need, what you may say and how to negotiate a premium.

Was Molkerei und Verarbeiter wollenWhat dairies and processors want

Large buyers must cut emissions in their supply chain. For that they need your real figures per kg – not averages.

Schema zur LektionDiagram for this lesson
Many food companies have climate targets (e.g. under SBTi FLAG). Most of their emissions are in raw materials – on your farm (scope 3). They can only cut that with you.
Primary data = figures from your farm. Secondary data = averages from databases. Delivering primary data shows your real progress – and is worth more to the buyer.
What they ask for: footprint per kg product, method and year, measures with effect, deforestation-free feed, proof of storage separate from reductions.

Wo steht das in der App?Where is this in the app? Ergebnis → Insetting-Zahl und „Bericht für Abnehmer (Drucken / PDF)“.Result → insetting figure and “Report for buyers (print / PDF)”.

1. Was sind Primärdaten? What is primary data?
2. Warum braucht die Molkerei deine Zahlen? Why does the dairy need your figures?
3. Werden Bindungen mit Minderungen verrechnet? Is storage netted against reductions?

Since 27 Sep 2026: no generic green claims and no climate claims based on offsetting. Say what you measured – with date and method.

Schema zur LektionDiagram for this lesson
EU directive 2024/825 bans, among others, generic claims like “eco-friendly” without recognised proof, claims that a product has no or positive climate impact because of offsetting, and own sustainability labels without a certification scheme.
Safely worded: “Humus on our fields was measured in 2026 (method …, lab …). We have cut diesel use by 12 % since 2024.” Specific, proven, dated.
For the farm shop: rather show the soil test, a photo of the spade test and the figure per kg. That is more honest than any label. When in doubt, have it legally checked before printing.

Wo steht das in der App?Where is this in the app? Report for buyers: contains date, method and separate figures – good as evidence.

✍️ 3 Fragen – teste dich3 questions – test yourself

1. Darfst du dein Produkt wegen gekaufter Zertifikate „klimaneutral“ nennen?May you call your product “climate neutral” because of bought certificates?
2. Welche Aussage ist sicher?Which claim is safe?
3. Darfst du dir ein eigenes Klima-Siegel ausdenken?May you invent your own climate label?

Go into talks with cost, effect and term. First ask the buyer to pay for the measurement – then your risk is small.

Schema zur LektionDiagram for this lesson
  3. Messung finanzieren lassen: Boden-Check oder Humus-Nachweis als Lieferanten-Bonus.
  4. Laufzeit: mindestens 3–5 Jahre – Humus braucht Zeit.
  5. Daten nur für diesen Zweck: schriftlich festhalten, wer was sehen darf.
  6. Eine Tonne, ein Käufer: Insetting und Zertifikat nie doppelt.
  1. Disclose cost: what does the measure cost you per ha or per animal and year (farm app tile)?
  2. Show effect: insetting figure or figure per kg, with method.
  3. Have the measurement funded: soil check or humus proof as supplier bonus.
  4. Term: at least 3–5 years – humus needs time.
  5. Data only for this purpose: write down who may see what.
  6. One tonne, one buyer: insetting and certificate never twice.
From practice: some dairy programmes pay about 1 ct per kg milk for taking part in a climate check and up to 3 ct per kg bonus for sustainability points (trade press 2023). Ask what your buyer offers – and check whether it covers your cost.

Wo steht das in der App?Where is this in the app? Hof-App → Schritt ③: Kachel-Kosten; Ergebnis → Bericht für Abnehmer.Farm app → step ③: tile costs; Result → report for buyers.

✍️ 3 Fragen – teste dich3 questions – test yourself

1. Was sollte der Abnehmer am besten zuerst übernehmen? What should the buyer ideally cover first?
How long should a humus agreement run at least?
May you sell the same tonne to the dairy and as a certificate?
